Wheel Throwing For Beginners
A 4 week session open to anyone interested. During each three hour class you will be guided through finding your personal approach to the potter’s wheel. Sessions are open to beginners and those with some clay experience. For the beginner, you will learn the fundamentals of turning mug, bowl and plate forms on the potter’s wheel. Depending on scale, you can expect to bring home up to 15 coloured, microwave, dishwasher and oven safe treasures. $175+hst Per Person.
Date Nights
Our clay nights are perfect for friends, family or couples to get together and try their hands at the potter’s wheel! Your night kicks off with an entertaining wheel demonstration. With guidance from your instructor and encouragement from your cohort, spend the night attempting to create a masterpiece, laughter, shenanigans and creativity will round out the evening. At the end of the night choose a clay gift from our Date night shelf to bring home and enjoy. $100+hst Per Couple.
Private Events
A private event at the Pottery or the Cottage is a great way to get into clay or have a fun new experience. We can set up a 2-2.5 hr lesson for 2 to 14 people any time on the weekend or day time during the week. This will give participants a chance to turn on the wheel or hand build with a private clay guide. You get unlimited clay and then keep up to 4 pots depending on size. We then finish and glaze (colour) the masterpieces for you (choice of three colours). Min $300+HST Per Event.

Eldon House’s Victorian Christmas
Friday, December 1, 2023, to Monday, January 1, 2024 | Drop-in Wednesday to Sunday between 12:00 and 5:00 p.m.
Enjoy the sights and scents of Victorian Christmas. Visit London’s oldest family residence and experience the beautiful holiday decorations of the past. This special exhibit is displayed throughout Eldon House and is available for viewing during our regular hours of operation by donation.
Christmas Crafting for Kids And Story Time With Amelia | Museum and Interpretive Centre
Sunday, December 10, Drop-in between 1:00 and 4:00 p.m. | 60-minute Crafting Sessions at 1:00pm and 2:30pm (Registration Required)
Children will get the chance to learn about seasonal traditional Victorian holiday ornaments and decorations through crafting. Take time to explore Eldon House with a self-guided tour and enjoy the sights and scents of our Victorian Christmas exhibit. Children are able to sit in the Drawing Room and listen to The Night Before Christmas read outloud by Amelia Harris! Story Time with Amelia is on a first come first serve basis. Cost: $10.00 (incl. HST) per person.
The Ghost of Christmas Past

The name Charles Dickens has become synonymous with Christmas. “A Christmas Carol” was arguably his most famous work which was built on the Victorian tradition of ghost story telling around the hearth at Christmas time. Learn about Christmas and the real ghost stories of Eldon House with this 50-minute guided tour by a costumed Historical Interpreter. This tour includes a history of age-old holiday traditions and a link to all things ‘Dickens’. This tour will get you in the spirit of Christmas. Cost: $15.00 (incl. HST) per person.
